It didn't mop, however, and its removable cleaning pads were fiddly to attach and could not deal with dried-on dirt.
Its app is a little on the basic side with no advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa, but its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station following a run. Other robots can follow a wall or trace a previous route, but the RX3 is a mess until it quits.
Another issue we faced was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. While it did a good job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily caught by cables and socks and it was not able to manage the tassels that adorn carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. However, with a reasonable price and impressive performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for a smarter alternative to traditional uprights.
